Lately, we've seen a lot of interest in using the RoadRunner as a general purpose ROM emulator for the Bosch ME7 platform as found in ~2000-2005ish Volkwagen 1.8t and Audi 2.7t applications. This is an 'off-label' application and you should NOT expect 'plug and play' ease of installation. This isn't something that we've played with ourselves very much, so the information we can offer is somewhat limited. This page will attempt to collect what we know in one place.
Audi TT 1.8 Turbo Bosch ME7.5 K-Line. Audi TT 3.2L Bosch ME7.1.1 K-Line. Audi TT 2.0 TFSI Bosch MED9.1 CAN. Bmw Series 1 118 2.0D Bosch EDC16C35 K-Line. Bmw Series 1 120 2.0D Bosch EDC16C35 K-Line. Bmw Series 3 1.9L Bosch M5.2 K-Line. Bmw Series 3 1.9L Bosch M5.2.1 K-Line. Bosch ME7.x.x (1024K) x 2; Bosch ME7.1.x (1024K). Lotus ECU's can only be ID, which we then provide you the matching software to create the tune file on.
- The 1024K RoadRunner Guts kit is the principal hardware being used. We offer an install service but highly encourage you to do this yourself.
- The main online forum where DIY-ish activity for this platform seems to be Nefarious Motorsports
- People seem to be using mostly TunerPro RT (with a XDF from nefmoto) and WinOLS software.
- There seems to be an endian difference between many of the ME7 files and the RR. We sell a byteswap board (2.7t specific I think?) which can be used to correct this. (Or it can be done in software)
- There is a 'bridge' program that allows the RR to be used with WinOLS: Nefmoto forum link

Note: The video states you can download the logger from Nefmoto without a user account, this may not be correct. A local copy of the program can be downloaded from this LINK.
- Bosch M(E) 7.9.7(+). Only FLASH memory writing of M7.9.7, M7.9.7+ and ME7.9.7 controllers installed in Korean and Chinese vehicles through the OBDII, and in Russian vehicles through the ECU connector. MultiFlasher ECU Chip Tuning Software works with J2534 Interface
MultiFlasher is a chip-tuning software intended for reading/writing FLASH and EEPROM memory of ECUs. It can use any adapter supporting J2534 standard, e.g. OpenPort 2.0 by Tactrix. Before flashing and after reading the program checks the firmware and checksums, and corrects them if needed. It allows to avoid flashing incorrect dumps or to make sure that reading is correct. BSL TriCore. Reading and flashing of ECU internal and external FLASH/EEPROM memory with Infineon TriCore TC1724, TC1728, TC1738, TC1762, TC1766, TC1767, TC1782, TC1792, TC1793, TC1796, TC1797 processors in BSL mode.
