Eagle 88 inspections and all numbers matching including locking block. The gun is a cyq Spreewerk P38. Serial number 6156 w. Trust me, I have tried to get these pictures all 'right side up' but failed. It is not for lack of effort. The gun appears to have no flaws but I am a total novice on this. Here we present a Nazi German Spreewerke 'cyq' code P38 Pistol, made in September of 1944. The P38 was designed by Walther to replace the Luger P08 as the standard service weapon for the Third Reich's Wermacht. On page 65 Marschall states that this change also applies to Mauser and Spreewerke pistols. Also, pp 68 refers to Mauser, but not specifically Spreewerke. Therefor, (it seems to me) if you have a Spreewerke/cyq P.38, and it has the unmodified frame (my cyq 5456a is one of these) you should be able to assume it was manufactured before 8/43.
